Great Product, that provides a lot of very helpful engine data in an easy to use and see display! Installing [EI’s FP-5L] in my RV 6. . . owned an FP-5L 6 years ago in a Cessna 206 on floats in a commercial operation in Alaska. Getting every ounce of payload, and coming home across Cook Inlet with the Cessna gas gauges near or on empty, I spent a lot of time explaining the benefits of the Fuel flow gauge… and reassured my passengers there were 12 gallons of fuel on board. Easy installation, lightweight solution. It looks good and is easy to use. [I chose E.I. because] I needed to replace my old Hobbs meter. This provided more functionality, allowing me to remove my old digital timer, and EI programmed it to my current airframe time.
[EI’s FP-5L with Aux Carb Temp Option] gave me fuel flow & Carby temp & was easy to retrofit.
Very accurate readings! The “analog” style LED arc means at-a-glance tach readings that allow the pilot to keep his attention where it matters, not reading a gauge. The digital readout is great for maintenance checks and mag drop tests.
