Product Overview

EDC-33 Overview

The EDC-33 (Engine Data Converter) is sometimes referred to as a Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) and has a broad range of applications. Its main purpose is to monitor the probes, transducers and sensors mounted on the engine and airframe. It then processes this data and outputs it on a serial bus. This allows a Display Unit or MFD to display the data without having to perform the intense processing required in a set timeframe. Also, annunciators and status switches can be monitored.

The EDC-33 Engine Data Converter can be used on piston, turboprop or jet aircraft as well as helicopters. If an EEC or FADC system needs to be monitored, check out our BC-5 (Bus Converter).

Smart Conversions

Processed and Calibrated Data Out

  • Analog and pulse signals are received and processed using an array of algorithms that massage the data into readable engineering units.
  • The EDC can provide simple linear conversions or mapped linearization for non-linear inputs or complex calculations.
  • Processed data is output via a number of serial protocols.
  • A receiving display unit only has to display the processed data as it is received.

Optimal Solution for Custom Monitoring Applications

  • Bluetooth capable for wireless in-field calibration.
  • The formatted data provides an easy integration to any display head without further processing.

You folks do a great job. Keep up the good work.

Kevin D. from Missouri
Cessna 172 Skyhawk

Great product at a great price …. (and) reliability.

Paul B. from Washington
Cessna 150

While the installation is not quite done yet, I have seen the unit in my aircraft with the engine running and the monitor producing numbers. It looks very good and I cannot wait to go flying with it!

Jeffrey S. From Missouri
Cessna 170N

Installation was straightforward; great quality all around.

Christopher L. from California
C182 A

Very nice product, giving a real advantage on fuel management.

Stéphane T. from France
Mudry CAP 20E

Very accurate readings! The “analog” style LED arc means at-a-glance tach readings that allow the pilot to keep his attention where it matters, not reading a gauge. The digital readout is great for maintenance checks and mag drop tests.

David K. from New Mexico
Cessna T20N Turbo Centurion II

Easy to install and everything you need inside package. Good price, nice instrument and simple to use.

Pantelis K. from Greece
Piper Seneca I

Your guys were great at answering all my questions . . . .

Alex R. from Canada
1968 180H

Great to have all 6 egt’s, installation was straightforward. [I chose E.I. because of] price and availability.

Errol O. from Ontario, Canada
Cessna 182 Skylane

After a full IFR install on my Cessna 175, my two favorite instruments without question is the CGR-30 Combo set. Simple and customizable, the data is invaluable!

C Scott Van W. From Idaho
Cessna 175 Skylark

I have been installing avionics since 1996. This was THE BEST wire harness I have ever seen!

Christopher W. from Texas
Cessna 172

Very happy with our new tachometer!
