The EDC-33 (Engine Data Converter) is sometimes referred to as a Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) and has a broad range of applications. Its main purpose is to monitor the probes, transducers and sensors mounted on the engine and airframe. It then processes this data and outputs it on a serial bus. This allows a Display Unit or MFD to display the data without having to perform the intense processing required in a set timeframe.Also, annunciators and status switches can be monitored.
The EDC-33 Engine Data Converter can be used on piston, turboprop or jet aircraft as well as helicopters. If an EEC or FADC system needs to be monitored, check out our BC-5 (Bus Converter).

I have several EI units in my aircraft and have been very pleased with their reliability over the years. The other great part, besides the unit themselves, is the support from you all. My graphic engine analyzer, fuel flow meter, volt/amp meter, RPM and now Manifold gauge.
I won a FP-[5]L and had it installed in my c150. I was/am impressed with the accuracy and ease of operation of the FP. I wanted a new tach and I trust (and verified) that the EI R-1… would be my best choice. I am not a rich man. These instruments are affordable and incredibly accurate.
