An Engine Monitor is only as good as its probes. That’s why Electronics International (EI) has taken the development of its probes, connectors, and accessories very seriously. The installation was straightforward and quite easy. Reliability and accuracy far exceed the original [aircraft’s] oil pressure/temperature systems. Also, the price was about a third of the cost to replace the gauge cluster.
I like being able to get a hold of a technical expert immediately when calling into the main EI phone number… The build quality of the sensors, display unit and EDC seem very good… I appreciate the business practices of EI and have had an EI R-1 Tachometer which has worked flawlessly for the past 20 years.
