An Engine Monitor is only as good as its probes. That’s why Electronics International (EI) has taken the development of its probes, connectors, and accessories very seriously. I installed a VA-1A Volts/Amps Insturment [sic] in my 1970 V35B to replace the original analog amp meter. What a great dual purpose digital gauge! Installation was simple and the product is very well made. It goes well next to my SuperClock I installed a couple of years ago. EI makes great products and this one will satisfy the most discriminating owner.

I won a FP-[5]L and had it installed in my c150. I was/am impressed with the accuracy and ease of operation of the FP. I wanted a new tach and I trust (and verified) that the EI R-1… would be my best choice. I am not a rich man. These instruments are affordable and incredibly accurate. Installing [EI’s FP-5L] in my RV 6. . . owned an FP-5L 6 years ago in a Cessna 206 on floats in a commercial operation in Alaska. Getting every ounce of payload, and coming home across Cook Inlet with the Cessna gas gauges near or on empty, I spent a lot of time explaining the benefits of the Fuel flow gauge… and reassured my passengers there were 12 gallons of fuel on board. I’m a believer…
